Range - found only in Burma, it is restricted to dry forest habitats in the central and western areas of the country.
Natural History - sympatric with Indotestudo elongata in the dry forests of Burma. It is rarely observed in the wild. The burmese people have caught the tortoises for food for a long time, using trained dogs to locate them in the forest. Deforestation has seriously reduced habitat.
