The summer is winding down at our southern California Conservation Center and we have had some incredibly unique species hatching. Our first Critically Endangered Roti Island Snake-neck Turtle (Chelodina mccordi) hatched from its tiny egg, one ninja star-like Spiny Turtle (Heosemys spinosa) unfurled from an oblong egg, one Critically Endangered Pancake Tortoise (Malacochersus tornieri) unfolded itself from its egg, 2 Endangered Forsten's Tortoises (Indotestudo forstenii) emerged, and 9 beautiful Mexican Painted Wood Turtles (Rhinoclemmys pulcherrima) hatched, another first for the Turtle Conservancy!
